12 Free At-Home Workouts for Lockdown Life

Discover the free workouts available to you that are easy to follow at home. With social distancing and working from home, getting movement into the day can be challenging. There are only so many daily walks you can have, and moving between rooms isn’t overly stimulating.

Thankfully, fitness gurus, sports brands and apps have risen to the challenge and are offering workouts for free over their digital platforms, to keep us moving and on top of our fitness.


IF YOU LOVE INSTAGRAM:

WOMEN’S HEALTH MAGAZINE

The go-to magazine for women’s fitness, Women’s Health has taken to Instagram offering free workouts every weekday, twice a day, with various trainers. Workouts include HIIT and lower body training, with sessions lasting up to 40-minutes helping you keep up your fitness, and schedule in a workout all week long.

LULULEMON

The makers of the sportswear brand are offering healthy lifestyle content and workouts on their Instagram stories throughout the lockdown in order to keep everyone’s spirits up. The Lululemon ambassadors are sharing their tips and tricks for looking after your body and mental health.

VENUS WILLIAMS

The infamous four Olympic gold medalist Venus Williams has been taking part in Instagram Lives for daily workout demos. Venus is offering five-minute demonstrations every day, showing viewers how to execute different exercises at home. She is also discussing advice on how to maintain your mental health and physical health.

BASECAMP FITNESS

You can find a variety of cardio and strength exercises on the Basecamp Fitness Instagram page. Workouts such as ‘Burn Till You Return’ are designed to get your blood flowing and your muscles working.


IF YOU LIKE APPS:

GYMSHARK

If you are familiar with the Gymshark brand, you’ll know that their athletes are complete professionals. The app is now offering a selection of free at-home workouts, where you can also track your progress, add information about lifting, and set your own reps.

TONE AND SCULPT

Owned and created by fitness guru Krissy Cela, the Tone and Sculpt app makes working out easier, with scheduled workouts, a weekly planner, and nutrition advice. The app is available for a 14-day free trial and can be downloaded from the AppStore now.

FITBIT PREMIUM

The well known Fitbit brand is offering a free 90-day trial on their premium package available on their app. The app offers personalised health guidance, customised programs, and workouts from popular fitness brands such as Obé and Physique 57

GET FIT WITH KATE AUSTIN

Katie Austin has created a 14-day free workout plan on her app called ‘Quaran-Tone’, which gives you daily workouts of up to 30-minutes. The exercises work every part of your body and are accessible for all abilities.


IF YOU HAVE NO EQUIPMENT:

REEBOK

Reebok has a weekly schedule filled with HITT, yoga, ab and many more workouts, all available on their YouTube channel. If you can’t make the real-time sessions, you can catch up on the recorded workouts and do them in your own time at home.

CHLOE TING

Thanks to TikTok, Chloe Ting’s workouts have become highly popular with viewers. Her free workout programs and challenges are all available online on her website, and on YouTube for those who want to follow along with a video.

THE BODY COACH

By popular demand, Joe Wicks has been hosting daily PE sessions at his home for both adults and children, aiming to encourage the whole family to get moving. You can join in with Joe’s workouts every weekday at 9 am GMT on The Body Coach Youtube channel, with each class lasting around 30 minutes. This is a great way to start your morning.

TONAL

Tonal, known for its home workout machines, has released free Tonal Yoga classes to it’s YouTube channel. The classes range from 6 – 55 minutes and you can choose what level of yoga you want to try. No gym, no equipment, you just need enough room on your kitchen floor!
