Whilst Scrubs is still just a fictional show about doctors, it can still teach us many valuable lessons. Each character has their own arc in which they learn and adapt, here are a 5 lessons we learnt from the show Scrubs.
DON’T WORRY ABOUT OTHER OPINIONS
Dr Kelso said it best to J.D: “Who the hell cares what anybody else thinks. Just look into your heart and do whatever the hell makes you happy.” Life is too short to be worried about making everyone happy. Just be kind and be yourself.
IT’S OKAY TO BE A KID
Turk and J.D always act like children, but it keeps them happy and mentally sane. They are serious when needed. That’s why it’s okay to hold onto your childhood and keep the fun bits.
DON’T GIVE UP
In a hospital TV show, there is always something difficult a character has to do. No one ever gives up in the show even though it doesn’t always work out. Dr Kelso said it best: “nothing in this world that’s worth comes easy.” Great things are usually worth the wait and hardship.
DON’T LET THE DIFFICULT MOMENTS DEFINE YOU
There are many trials and tribulations for the gang in Scrubs, but they never let it define their characters. Even Dr Cox manages to come out of his funk and keep going despite the tough times at his job and in his life.
IT’S OKAY TO DREAM
J.D is a character that dreams a lot whilst he’s at work, but it helps him get through his day. Imagining a funny musical can help him forget the trauma of losing a patient. Dreaming is a fine thing to do if you don’t get lost in reality.
