When was the last time you actually cleaned your makeup brushes? Did you know that layers of oil from your skin mixes with makeup pigments and dead cells in your brushes. It’s essentially a breeding ground for bacteria and is not great for your skin.
Cleaning your brushes may seem boring but it’s something that you should do in order to have better skin. Here is a breakdown of how to actually clean your brushes properly!
WASH
Hand wash them with baby shampoo, antibacterial soap or washing up liquid. Dip each brush individually under running water and then gently soak the rest. Rub through the brush gently with your fingers.
RINSE
Hold the brushes under the running water and make sure that the liquid is rinsed off. After you’ve rinsed it off, spin the brush dry through your fingers.
REPEAT
To make sure that you get everything off the brush, repeat the first two steps.
DRY
Ensuring that they dry properly, lay them underneath a radiator or somewhere warm. Do not place them on top of each other and make sure they are laid flat.
Now, you can use your brushes and will decrease your chance of throwing bacteria on your face – making your skin look better than ever.
